Responsible Conduct of Research

The UW implemented a training requirement in 2010 prompted by a mandate to NSF from the America Competes Act. All student hourlies, post docs and grad students funded by the National Science Foundation need to take an online training course on responsible conduct of research (RCR), or be removed from payroll. The UW encourages all to take the online training so here at CFL we extended this requirement to all student hourlies, post docs and grad students regardless of funding source.

It will only take about 30 minutes to complete. Here’s how to take the training:

  1. Go to the Canvas training page (https://canvas.wisc.edu/enroll/EET6NH) and log in with netID to pull up Enroll in Responsible Conduct of Research page.
  2. Click on Enroll in Course.

To verify you have completed training, use your NetID and password to login to the Research Certification database (https://my.gradsch.wisc.edu/lookups/citi/trainingStatus.html).
